NSU Rector relies on overseas diaspora

The anti-Russian sanctions imposed by Western countries, can contribute to the return to Russia of world-class scientists working abroad today. This was stated today to journalists Rector of Novosibirsk State University Michael Fedoruk, according to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta».

According to the rector, to the end of this year, the university will be set up 5-6 “mirror” research laboratories under the supervision of the outstanding Russian or foreign scientists. As expects Fedoruk, sanctions against Russia promote greater repatriation of Russian origin scientists working in the West today. Rector argues that many of them “want to go back to the Academic”, explaining that it was, in particular, the mathematicians from around the world. Surnames Fedoruk did not name, but said that, in addition to mathematics and laboratory will be established in various branches of science, from physics to archeology.

In early August, NSU was among national universities included in a program to increase competitiveness in the global educational market. The University will receive budget subsidies in the amount of 12 billion rubles. According Fedoruk, NSU should be of a single scientific and educational complex.
