NASA reported a record melting of ice in the Arctic – Sputnik FM

NASA experts reported that the area of ​​ice in the Arctic this year (14.54 million square kilometers) below the minimum, which was recorded four years ago (14.65 million sq. Km).

Each year, NASA experts fix the rate of ice area in the Arctic, especially paid attention periud from February to April. In the current year, despite the fact that the period is not over yet, experts have recorded the lowest figure. For the year ice cover has decreased by 100 thousand square kilometers.

The UN experts believe that in four decades due to the melting of glaciers in the seas and oceans may disappear completely commercial fish. Some experts also reported that the melting ice could lead to an increase in sea level, it will increase the average temperature of the planet, and can also lead to flooding of many cities on the coasts.
